As part of the ongoing process of improving MOOving Up, our development team adjusted several mechanics and gameplay details in response to playtesting feedback. In addition to implementing several player suggestions, such as making the UFO controls less sensitive, adjusting our energy bar to only drain when the beam is enabled, and adding back arrows and quest notes to in-level UI, we smoothed out behavior bugs for collectible items, the farmer, the bull, and the movement bounds within levels. In order to make the purpose of chickens more intuitive, we also added the chicken launcher UI when chickens are picked up by the UFO to communicate the ability to shoot them at enemies. Furthermore, we made all five areas playable once the previous is completed successfully.

From the original concept of a relaxing cow abduction game with a silly ending twist, this game has evolved significantly over the past couple weeks of development, largely due to the feedback we have received from playtesting and the new ideas that spark in response. Our team has been committed to making a fun, intuitive game of chaos and alien-centric easter eggs, and iterating every week is what allows us to find new ways to improve and expand. In the coming weeks, our main focus is further differentiating and refining our level bosses so they provide unique experiences to the player without inducing confusion with game mechanics. We also plan to analyze our UI layout and redesign/organize the interface to be as minimal, helpful, and intuitive as possible. Lastly, as we do each week, we will analyze all received feedback and discuss as a team what improvements can be made to address any concerns that reveal themselves.
