The good and the bad: The Bad: I think at least from the way the trailer looks, that I’m gonna need a Nasa supercomputer to run it, that for me would be the worst. I also have a feeling it’s gonna take up a boat load of space in my computer.
The Good: IT LOOKS SO FREAKING COOL. IT LOOKS SO FREAKING COOL. IT LOOKS SO FREAKING COOL. Do I need to say it again? IT LOOKS SO FREAKING COOL. People here are worried about the social media aspect that they might be adding in, but isn’t the entire point of gta to be sort of a realistic SATIRICAL game. – Mackenzie Neal
It looks okay? Great even for an open-world, but even by the trailer, it doesn’t win any “best visuals ever” awards in my book, there are multiple games that are years old that seem to match it, yet people are talking about needing a “RTX 5090″ to play it and calling it “Crysis 2“? I’m just wondering if we all watched the same thing. Not to mention that it’ll be running on consoles that are already 3 years old and definitely don’t have “RTX 5090” kind of power. – BigDaddy
For me, more than the visuals, it was the animation fidelity. The characters felt so much more real than other games I expect from the “genre” (using the term loosely). And given the dialogue in GTA games tend to have a very specific character, I can imagine them coming to life a lot more than we’re used to. – fishghost
It just doesn’t feel good to me… The hyper realism mixed with some sort of filter doesn’t give me a cohesive feel. – Robert Drebin
I don’t know… I mean, the world looks pretty, kind of? The characters’ animation style still looks like how bad actors would move if told how to behave a certain way with their bodies. I really hope they introduce something revolutionary. That’s the issue with sequels of games that revolutionized the industry; we all get on the hype train because we unconsciously expect that same sense of awe we had when we discovered the original game(s), but production is so expensive nowadays, that companies feel safer with re-hashing what they did before with a fresh coat of GPU Technology-based paint. I’ve found myself playing more and more indie games for that reason. – Rytoast
When I realized they were doing a TikTok thing I felt a bone deep weariness that I have yet to shake off. – glooga
I thought it looked pretty good, but the amount of TikTok/Instagram shit I saw in the trailer was very concerning to me. I want to play a GTA game, even if it’s a more serious GTA game in the tone of RDR2 rather than GTA5. What I don’t want to play is a zoomer clout-chasing simulator. That shit’s tiring enough in real life already. – New Guy
They have to appeal to gen Z too, but I agree that if they rely heavily on virtual social media it’ll be a chore. – Ken.Moromisato
I hope that social media is as big in the story as it seems in the trailer and that they don’t pull any punches with the parody of it. – Martin Drkos
Screw anyone releasing a trailer for a game that’s over a year away. It’s just my opinion but a trailer should be like 6ish months before the release date, then you can release like a couple gameplay videos for major features in the following months, then a final trailer like 4-6 weeks beforehand. Go ahead and say it’s in development whenever, I don’t care about that. But keep the hype train in the station longer because when it runs out of steam over the next 13-16 months it’s just going to frustrate people. – Badprenup
I’m going to be incredibly sad—but unsurprised—when the inevitable crunch article arrives and we read about people missing their children’s funerals because they’re pulling 110 hours a week programming on an Instagram filter for an in-game phone, or animating a real-time fully detailed molting cycle for the alligators. The in-game Instagram knock-off will also be called “Dick Penis Gram” or some dumb shit. – Arden
Not a GTA player (and never played the original Vice City), but I will say that they NAILED the vibe of Miami. I will definitely sit at my friend’s session because I’m insanely curious to walk around this world, I’m betting it’s going to feel bizarre lol – elyonum
As a native South Floridian, and with the map apparently being a large, albeit reimagined, area of South (and Central?) Florida, I’m mostly interested in driving around, listening to the radio, exploring, and seeing how the creators designed things. – Foxlore
Looked about what I expected. I’ll be curious what the major changes for it are. I’m sure it’ll be as polished as any GTA game, but I’m also largely expecting more of the same, paired with an online offering designed to be a live service running for at least another decade, if not more. Honestly I’ll be expecting more focus on that online offering than the core game, just like GTAV. – ImExhaustedDude
Doesn’t matter until I see if a miserable new GTA Online kneecaps the game. – Admiral Asskicker
I think 2025 can’t get here fast enough. My body is ready. – Killa K
