Once inside the city, go right towards the ladder. Break the boxes on your way.
Go down the ladder. To your left is a vendor. You can talk to him for some lore and buy consumables you need. Go right from here.
You will come across an Infected Wanderer. Roll away from the firebombs and dodge his swings. He should go down in a couple of hits.
Continue right and you will come across a permanent checkpoint. Check here to refill your health and mana.
Go up the ladder to find two random consumables. Drop down and continue into the courtyard. Continue right. Go up the ladder and take the consumable, but do not continue upwards. The enemies are easier when you come back later.
In the next room, you will face a Deranged Woman. She rushes you and swings and leaves behind a pile of red goop that hurts. Don’t overcommit on the combo. Jump or dodge sprinkled with 3 hit combos.
Go down the ladder. Take out the next Infected and continue down. Another Deranged woman. Take her out as before. If you get hit, use your gun to keep distance. It deals a ton of damage but bullets are scarce. Go to the room on the left of the ladder.
Pick up the lore piece in the room. Go right from the previous room. You will face your first flying enemy – a Rotted Cold one. It does a slow-dive bomb that is simple to dodge and takes a couple of hits.
Next to it is an Old Vigilante. Its range attack is easily dodged by rolling but if you get close he will melee you. Blindside him and take him out.
Go right to face another Deranged woman. Ignore the ladder for now and continue right after taking the Deranged woman out. You will be in a graveyard with Lucyl. Watch the cutscene.
Time to track back. Go up the stairs. There are two Faceless Ones and an Old Vigilante. Faceless ones jump and swing on landing. So, roll dodging them is the best solution. Keep dodging and hitting them till they go down.
Go down the ladder you came up with as the ladder to your left is out of reach and will need to be lowered. Continue left back into the courtyard where you faced the Rotten Cold One. And take the ladders down. You will face two more Faceless Ones. Go down the ladder but be careful there is an enemy waiting to pounce.
It’s a Slum Hound. It has two attack patterns – a rush and a 2 hit combo. Watch for the tells. When it rushes jump over it and when it slashes, dodge roll. Go up the right ladder to fight another Old Vigilante. Keep going up to find a coffin.
Inside is a new throwable weapon – Corrupted Star. It has good range. Try it out. Drop back and go left to find a pathway blocked with a big carved marble block. You cannot move it or smash it.
Go to the right now past both ladders. You will enter a graveyard. Dont bother following this path through for now.
Go back the way you came. Take the ladder closest to the immovable marble block previously and go up. Keep going up till you reach the courtyard again. Go up the ladder we previously ignored.
Go across the terrace and you will come across a lever you cannot move. The next one you can and it drops a ladder down to the courtyard.
Go into the room on the left. There is an Infected Wanderer on top to the left. He will chuck Molotovs at you. Dodge roll, since you will take dot damage from fire. Jump up and take him out.
Keep going up and take out the Faceless one and the infected wanderer on top. Remember to break boxes. You need all the consumables you can get your hands on. On top go left. A short cutscene will play. You will face two new enemy types here – a Grave Hound and a Grave Digger. The Grave hound rushes you once you are in frame from inside the patio. Jump or dodge roll his attacks. The Grave digger has two attacks – a green arcing range poison attack and a mine attack with red goop/disease. Both can be rolled through. Take them out with your big sword.
Jump up to the second floor and take the other Grave digger out. Continue up the ladder to the roof. There is an Infected Wanderer on top. Roll immediately to avoid getting hit. Take him out.
Jump across the balconies to take out the Infected Wanderer on the top balcony. Take out the Wanderer on the lower balcony. Pick up the consumable. A voice says something to you.
Drop down the other side and move right to find a secret item. The prompt shows up when you get close. I got bullets.
Go left now past the ladder into the room. Go left and you come across stairs going down. Another Infected Wanderer on top. Jump up and kill him. Take the next ladder up, another Infected Wanderer. Take him out with extreme prejudice and jump on the balcony to the left so you can move right to take down the flying Rotten Cold One coming at you.
Kill it and move right to find another Infected Wanderer. Drop down and hit the switch to activate the ladder that was shown in the cutscene when we first entered this area.
Jump down to the stairs and move left to find a ladder going down. Go down. A mini boss fight next. A temporary checkpoint, mana replenish item, and healing items await. Pick them up.
Go right into the room to find two hounds and the mini-boss – Cold One Shielder. The hounds we have faced before, just dodge roll, and take them out. The boss has 2 attacks – a rush attack that ends with him hitting either wall and providing an opening or a ground pound. He does the rush most of the time. Simple enough to jump over.
The door past him opens after he dies. Go forward and jump down. Break the chest and jump to the small platform on your left. There is an enemy down there to your right. It’s a Stray Cold One. It does a basic jump attack, dodge left or right accordingly and take it out.
Go to the far right, past the ladder. This is a secret wall. So, smash it.
On the other side is a consumable and a lever that opens a door back to the courtyard. There is also a grapple point, but we lack the necessary skill/tool for it. Go back to the ladder. Go down the ladder to find a lever, a consumable and a chest. The lever drops a ladder down to one of the very first rooms we came in – the one with the checkpoint. Smash the wall on the left of the lever. It’s a secret room.
Break the boxes, pick up the consumables and open your fourth coffin. Inside, you will find Nighttide’s Rout – a trident weapon. Equip it. It’s a whip-like weapon.
